LEARN MORE ABOUT ME
Hey there — I’m James.
I’m a learning and enablement leader who designs scalable programs and digital learning experiences that drive measurable growth for individuals and organizations.
My background spans academia, coaching, edtech, and health tech. Early in my career, I saw how powerful clinical and coaching interventions can be in driving sustained behavior change. I also saw their limitation: 1:1 solutions alone can’t meet the scale, speed, or complexity of today’s growth challenges.
That insight led me into technology and product-enabled learning.
Today, I focus on translating behavioral science, coaching principles, and learning research into human-centered, AI-enabled programs and products that build confidence, capability, and skills—while delivering outcomes the business can measure and act on.
The question that continues to guide my work is simple:
How might we design learning experiences that feel personal and human—while operating effectively at scale?
I currently live and work in Denver, CO and outside of work, I’m a dedicated husband and father, a proud cat person, an avid hiker, and a curious human who values time outdoors and deep connection with friends and family.
My Learning Philosophy
My background as an educator, coach, and learning and enablement leader has shaped a simple, practical model for supporting user-centered growth.
Learn 💡
Sometimes we know the thing. Sometimes we don’t. This first stage focuses on building awareness and understanding through evidence-based knowledge trasnfer, clear mental models, and purposeful framing—so learners know what matters and why.
Connect 🔗
Information alone doesn’t change behavior. Relevance does. This stage helps learners connect new information to their own context, challenges, and goals. Through reflection and social learning, ideas move from “interesting” to personally meaningful and actionable.
Do ✅
Knowing isn’t the same as doing. (Stretching is good for me. Do I always do it? Still no.) This is where growth actually happens. I design learning loops that enable practice in real-world contexts—supported by feedback, reflection, and iteration—so skills are applied, validated, and integrated over time.
Guiding Values
On day 1 of my coaching training program, one sentence has stuck with and guided me in my career. The sentence?
The belief that every person is a creative, resourceful, and whole individual capable of creating the life they desire.
This core belief guides my values to learning and content design.
Be A Facilitator 🌱
People do not resist change, they resist being changed. Be a facilitator and nurture the environment around users to seek what it is they want.
Lead with Empathy 🫱🏽🫲🏻
It takes a lot of courage to seek out a product, resource, or piece of content. Change is hard. Let’s make it easier, more delightful, and effective.
